Africa’s vibrant and youthful population, with a median age of just 19, is poised to shape demand for years to come. According to the World Bank, by 2050, Africa will have the youngest workforce on the planet, with one in three individuals aged 15-34. However, a pressing challenge exists - 53 million young Africans found themselves unemployed in 2024, underscoring the urgency for youth employability initiatives.

As part of the landmark 10^th edition anniversary of the Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition taking place 22 – 24 September, a new partnership has been formed between dmg events and Field Ready, whose proprietary and innovative youth employability platform nurtures pre- and post-education candidates through industry STEM, capacity-building, and training programmes to ready them for jobs in the field.

Associated with the youth employability platform is the annual Generation Ready meeting that gathers both qualified candidates with prospective employers. This year, the 4^th annual Generation Ready meeting will be integrated into the 10^th edition of the Summit, to take place on Monday, 22 September 2025, at the JCICC in Maputo, Mozambique. It will form a key part of the Summit’s Day One opening, attracting companies that recognise the value of unlocking young Mozambican talent.
